Fisherman Says He Didn’t Realize Gunmen Were Mexican Troops

I am so glad Harris and his grandson are okay, I want people to understand that I get why people like to go to Falcon lake and fish but after what I went through and now what Harris and his grandson went through I don’t recommend going to the Mexico side of Falcon Lake.  Go and fish at Falcon but not on the Mexico side, stay away from there.  I would hate to of seen there day end like mine or worse.  I figured most everyone would know by now how dangerous it is in Mexico and on Falcon Lake, maybe if he heard our story he would of thought twice about going into Mexico waters on Falcon Lake.  I am thankful that they are okay and made it home safe.

Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez is Retiring

Sheriff Gonzalez has been very out spoken about our U.S./Mexico Border and about David’s murder.  Sheriff has been a wonderful support to myself and our families and I wish him the best and I am so thankful for his support and I’m glad he is still going to be around until the end of 2012.  I pray over the next year that between him, myself and many other people who speak out about the border issues that we can start to see some results.  Even though I realized how our borders aren’t secure, my first priority is David and getting him home and getting justice for him and our families.  I believe in MIRACLES  and I believe one day David will return from the land of the enemy.

Fishermen Come Under Fire at Falcon Lake

I am so thankful everyone was okay, but their day could of turned out a whole lot different.  I just wish people would learn from our experience that Falcon Lake is not safe and until Mexico gets a handle on their country, no one should be going to Mexico and fisherman who visit Falcon lake should not be going to the Mexico side.

Gov. Rick Perry

On July 14th, 2011 Gov. Rick Perry sent out letters on our behalf to the Department of State and Department of Justice.  I would like to thank him and his staff for their continual efforts in requesting information from the Department of State and Department of Justice on my behalf.  I am not even sure I can express my gratitude for Gov. Rick Perry and many of the other congressional and house leaders of Texas who have supported me and stood by me during this tragedy.

10 Months

Were a few days past the ten month mark and I know I probably say this every month but with each passing month it gets seems to get harder and harder.  This last week I think has been so ruff and frustrating,  because everything that can go wrong has and most of it I’m sure my family is saying it’s not that big of an issue but for me this week it hasn’t mattered how big or small the issue was everything was a BIG ISSUE.  I have just felt so defeated and exhausted and ready for a break, ready for things to start going right and smoothly for me.  Even with everything that has gone on I would try to remember that the bible says in Romans 8:18 What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.  There are so many encouraging scriptures about God being in the mist of our trials and sorrows, but sometimes for us humans it’s hard to see him when were down and feeling defeated.  So, this last week I have really had to just trust that God is with me and he’s in control and just have faith that it will all work out.  Trust me this has been really difficult to do… so when I’m struggling I go and listen to the songs by Mandisa “Stronger” and “Blessings” by Laura Story, if you haven’t listened or heard these songs do, they are encouraging.

My family has been so gracious the last 10 months (like they always are) that they have stepped in, in so many ways and I just couldn’t thank them enough.  I always knew I had a wonderful family but since September 30th I know that God gave me the family that I have for this time in my life I would truly need them the most and they would be here for me, and they have been. So Dad, Mom and Tia thank you so much for being so amazing, I am truly blessed to have you as well as David’s mom, dad and sister have been so wonderful anytime I need something I know they will be there to help out in any way they can.  I could not of asked for a better family to marry into.  They are my family and I love them so much.
